Yes. An individual in high school may belong to both the High School (HS) and Collegiate FBLA divisions, provided certain conditions are met.
Because high school students may also be enrolled in post-secondary coursework, dual membership is permitted as long as all parties agree and it is allowed at the state level.
Requirements for Dual Division Membership
For a high school individual to participate in both divisions, the following conditions must be met:
- Student approval: The individual understands and agrees to participate in both divisions.
- Parent/guardian approval: A parent or guardian consents to the dual membership.
- Adviser approval: The adviser(s) support and manage the individual’s participation in both divisions.
- State approval: The state FBLA organization allows dual-division membership.
Membership Dues
Dual division membership means the individual is considered a member of both divisions, and therefore:
- National and state dues must be paid separately for each division.
- The student will be registered twice: Once as a High School member and once as a Collegiate member, creating two separate records with two unique emails.
- Once the member has graduated and is fully a Collegiate member, a help desk ticket will need to be created to merge the two accounts.
