Using Option 4 of the process: “Registration Link and Approve Membership Requests”
Scenario: You want to open membership (or registration) via a link, collect requests, then review and approve them manually. Reducing manually typing names, reducing errors, and providing students the ability to self-register.
Step 1: Share the Registration Link
Navigate in your CONNECT account to members > add new members.
Copy the registration link for Option 4 (the one configured for “Registration Link and Approve Membership Requests”).
Provide this link to prospective members - via email, your website, social media, etc.
When a student clicks the link, they fill out the registration form and submit their membership request.
👉 Tip: It’s helpful to include language like “Your request will be reviewed and approved within X business days” so students know what to expect.
Step 2: Receive and Review Membership Requests
Log in and go to the “Members” and then “View Pending Registration” section.
You’ll see a list of students who have submitted via the registration link.
Click each request to view the details submitted (name, email, any additional form questions).
For each request, make a decision: approve an unpaid student or deny.
Step 3: Approve a Membership Request
Select the request.
Click Approve.
Confirm that the user has been added to the proper member list (unpaid student).
Send a welcome message, with instructions for their next steps (e.g., paying membership, how to login, how to get started).
Optionally, update your internal documentation: mark the request as processed.
Step 4: Monitor and Maintain Member Status
Periodically review your “Pending” list to avoid backlog. Or handle all requests when you receive the pending registration email in your inbox.
Communicate clearly: if you approve someone, tell them; if you deny someone, consider sending a friendly note.
Provide next steps on paying membership to move from unpaid student to active member.
Tip: This process is just for membership registration and does NOT collect payment.
